Finsahome and the enviromentAt Finsa Home we are proud to be one of the very few home furniture retailers who actively promote the use of materials from PEFC forests – but what exactly does this mean? And how does it affect you, the customer?

First of all, an explanation for you – PEFC stands for the Endorsement of Forest Certification. The organisation represents a quality testing service that regulates the usage of wood-based materials from sustainable forests – something which Finsa Home wholeheartedly supports.

What does the PEFC stand for?

The PEFC have a long-standing belief that forests should be certified as sustainable before they are tampered with. The scheme have been recognised and subsequently welcomed by the European Union and the UK Government in an effort to preserve forests and become more environmentally aware of our surroundings.

The organisation is in full agreement that the wood and timber-based products should all be sourced from forests with the highest ecological, social and ethical considerations.

Where does Finsa Home come in?

Finsa Home are completely behind the PEFC and, as such, have committed to only using materials that originate from sustainable forests that have been officially certified by the aforementioned schemes.
